About Us

CELADA is comprised of a group of Canadian activists, academics and development professionals, many of various African diasporas, who are deeply concerned with the state of land rights in Africa. The idea for the Coalition began after its founding members hosted a high-level round table event entitled “The Scramble for African Land, Water and Resources”. This sold-out event gained significant attention.

As a result, after many months of discussions between these members and important new ones, CELADA was officially formed in April 2013.
